About the Founder and CEO,
Dr. Jessie Robinson Frierson

Dr. Frierson’s passion in life is to bring about social justice for the disadvantaged. She is a retired Air Force officer, a former public and private school educator and doctoral fellow with a M.Ed. (Curriculum & Instruction) from George Mason University, a MBA from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Ed.D. in Educational, Leadership, Policy and Law from Alabama State University.
She also has Educational Certificates in Early Childhood Education and Biblical Studies, which includes one year of formal training in each area.

Dr. Frierson is seeking to make an impact in the arena of secondary, post-secondary and Christian education through her teaching, research and writing services. Her primary interest is to bring about change and improvement in the public education system to ensure that all children are given an opportunity to experience success and reach their fullest potential. She has published work on school choice and Christian education and is currently working on a book project addressing these topics. Dr. Frierson has served as research designer, consultant or editor on research projects that inform educational policy and evaluate educational outcomes, which includes: effective induction programs for new principals; desegregation in the Alabama’s Black Belt Region and its influence on the current public education system; the systemic socio-economic and educational problems in the poverty stricken Black Belt Region; the effects of the historical transfer of inequality and disadvantages across generations, which place children at-risk for failure in the education system and the societal structure; the need to better understand the psychological dimensions and the social and cultural issues associated with the at-risk student population, and effective intervention programs’ impact on their academic performance; the intrinsic capacity of the arts to address the intellectual, emotional, social and artistic developmental needs of students; the examination of school readiness by evaluating student achievement of children who transition from Head Start Programs; the efficacy of the school uniform policy and the legal challenges administrators face; the perception of instructional leaders on RTI and its impact on special education in rural elementary schools; and the influence of instructional leadership behaviors on student achievement in high performing, high-poverty schools.

Currently, Dr. Frierson works as a consultant, writer, research analyst and genealogist for Writing on Purpose, Inc. where she is also the founding and managing partner. Writing on Purpose, Inc. grew out of her experiences observing colleagues, fellow students and family members struggle with different aspects of writing, from responding to complex business matters to conducting high-level research in pursuit of a dream. Dr. Frierson is an encourager by nature and is dedicated to helping clients accomplish their dreams through her writing services. She is also dedicated to motivating and empowering clients to help others through their work, which helps clients walk into their purpose.

In addition, as a member of the Lowndes County, Alabama Descendants of the 1800’s Genealogy Group, Dr. Frierson desires to foster an interest in African-American genealogy and African lineage. She assists clients in the development of family genealogy, the discovery of their rich family history. Dr. Frierson has created a Lowndes County Ancestral Family Tree, which has multiple individual family trees with archival records for the benefit of future generations.  She also helps clients document their family history on personal Ancestral Family Trees and in Family Reunion Heritage Souvenir Booklets.

Dr. Frierson enjoys the work that she has been destined to accomplish. As a servant-leader, she is always searching, and in Robert Greenleaf’s view, “listening carefully to prophetic voices,” that are pointing to a better solution for the nation’s education ills. Dr. Frierson is prepared to confront the pervasive injustices in society with the great force of her pen; she stands ready to challenge the wide disparity between the quality of society that she knows is just and possible with the resources and capability available in this great country and the actual performance of the institutions that exist to serve our democratic society.
